Cross County Body Found

January 24, 2004

Cross county authorities find the body of young girl but won't say if it matches the description of a 15 year old Wynne girl missing since last weekend.

Cross county Sheriff Ronnie Baldwin confirms the body of a young girl was discovered today, but refused to give K8 news any other information.

In fact, the Sheriff told K8 we were wasting his time.

Sheriff Baldwin would not say where the body was found, the cause of death, or whether the body is that of a white or black female.

Our crew was ushered out of the sheriff's office.

Earlier this week we told you about a teenage girl from Wynne who had been missing since last Saturday night.

Her name is Whitney Hinton and she is 15 years old.

She left her parent's home last Saturday night without permission and hasn't been seen or heard from since.

We talked to Whitney's Mother and she says authorities told her the body they discovered is Whitney, but she says they will not let her see the body or give her any other information.
