LITTLE ROCK, AR - The number of Arkansas banks under regulatory enforcement action has dropped, and officials say that's a sign the industry is in better shape. The number of banks under enforcement action has fallen from a peak of 28 last year to 15.
Bank Department Commissioner Robert Adcock says part of the reason is the healty farm economy. Adcock says both prices and production were up, thus more farmers are enjoying good financial health.
Adcock also says the economy in eastern Arkansas is improving.
