ASU WR Dwayne Frampton honored by CFPA

JONESBORO, Ark. (ASU) — Following his performance in ASU's 45-14 victory over Troy last weekend, Arkansas State senior wide receiver Dwayne Frampton has been named Honorable Mention Wide Receiver Performer of the Week by College Football Performance Awards.

Frampton recorded 10 receptions for a career-high 153 yards and one touchdown against the Trojans.  After Troy cut Arkansas State's lead to 17-7 late in the second quarter, Frampton's 30-yard touchdown reception came on ASU's next drive, helping swing the momentum back in the Red Wolves' favor.  Frampton broke the school records for career receptions (159) and single-season receiving yards (1,125) during the game.

He also went over 100 yards receiving for the fifth time this year, matching the most in A-State history in a single season.  His 153 receiving yards were the second-most by any ASU player in a single game this season and tied the 12th-most in school history.  Frampton also moved past Troy's Jerrel Jernigan for the fourth-most receptions in a season in Sun Belt Conference history with 90 and moved past North Texas' Casey Fitzgerald for the fourth-most single-season receiving yards with 1,125.

Frampton helped the Red Wolves earn the outright Sun Belt Conference Championship with the victory over the Trojans and extend the nation's second-longest winning streak to nine games.  The Red Wolves completed the regular season at 10-2 overall with a perfect 8-0 mark in SBC action, and accepted an invitation to play in the Bowl Jan. 8 in Mobile, Ala.  Arkansas State will face Northern Illinois in an 8:00 p.m. game at Ladd-Peebles Stadium.
