Traffic stop in school zone leads to drug bust in Forrest City

FORREST CITY, AR (KAIT) - Police turned up more than an ounce of marijuana following a traffic stop in Forrest City on December 2.

According to the Forrest City Police Department, an officer pulled over 20 year old Diante Russell of Forrest City. During the stop, the officer noticed a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. A subsequent search turned up an ounce of marijuana that was packaged and ready to be delivered. The officer also found paraphernalia in the car.

Diante Russell has been charged with possession of marijuana with purpose to Deliver in a Drug Free Zone, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, No Seat Belt an Driving on a Suspended Drivers License (2nd offense).

Russell was transported to the St. Francis County Jail.
