Commission awards almost $400,000 contract for I-55 striping

(KFVS) - The Missouri Highway and Transportation Commission awarded a contract during their meeting on Dec. 7 for striping throughout Southeast Missouri.

The $397,990 contract was awarded to Park-Mark, Inc in St. Louis, Mo.

MoDOT says the project includes striping nearly 60 miles of Interstate 55 in Southeast Missouri.

The striping caravan will be a continuous moving operation. Drivers are advised to stay back 500 feet and follow all safety signage.

MoDOT says work zones will be marked with signs as the improvements are being made and they will alert drivers prior to any change in traffic.

According to MoDOT, striping on I-55 will be completed before Memorial Day 2012.
