JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) – The Forrest L. Wood Crowley's Ridge Nature Center let local families have a "crankin' good time." About 75 peole created custom fishing lures.
The Nature Center wanted to remind people that they can still fish this time of year, and what better way to do that than with their very own lure. Cody Walker, education programs specialist, says he hopes the kids actually put the lures to good use.
"It means that they've made it themselves," Walker said. "It's not something that they ran down to a store and purchased. They actually got to make it here at the Nature Center. If they catch a fish off it, it just brightens up their fishing trip that much more."
The Nature Center holds this craft event twice a year. The program was free to attend because of the one-eighth cent conservation sales tax.
