JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -- Officials with the Jonesboro Police Department are investigating a case of terroristic threatening of a Region 8 woman. According to JPD, Steve Oldham of Quitman is under investigation for making verbal threats against a woman. Jonesboro Police say Oldham has no formal warrants against him, and will only be arrested if he violates a protection order filed in Craighead County.

According to Jonesboro Police, there is no immediate threat to the public. Police said the woman who filed the protection order is safe and secure.

Earlier Sunday afternoon, a Poinsett County dispatcher confirmed to Region 8 News that Oldham was being sought by police. Police said Oldham was wanted for violating a protection order and felony threats. Police told Region 8 News that Oldham was considered to be armed and dangerous.

The dispatcher with the Poinsett County Sheriff's Office said officers were looking for a silver 2000 Chevrolet Impala driven by Oldham. No tag information was available.
