JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - The Joint Committee on Public Retirement left the state capital and traveled to Jonesboro on Monday.
Members are hosting meetings throughout the state to discuss the state's retirement plans in a number of different professions.
Members of the committee said they began the meetings to provide the public with any information they might have about possible changes to the public retirement system.
"It's not so much of a public hearing," said State Rep. Les Carnine, "It is more of an opportunity for the directors of the state pension programs to be here."
The committee is expected to meet on Tuesday at the Hilton Garden Inn of Jonesboro before departing the area.
