Suspect arrested for robbery at Blytheville cemetery

BLYTHEVILLE, AR (KAIT) – Blytheville Police say they have arresteda man suspected in a series of vehicle break-ins and burglaries in Blytheville,including the robbery of a woman at the Elmwood Cemetery.

The Blytheville Police Department located Justin Richardson, a23-year-old black male, around 11 a.m. Monday in Blytheville, according toPolice Chief Ross Thompson.

Linda Clark and her sister's visit to their brother's grave inOctober was anything but peaceful. "She [Clark's sister] saw him jerking on the door and Iscreamed, ‘Get away from my car!'"

"He jerked his shirt off wrapped it around his hand andsmashed out the car window and snatched my purse." Clark said she chasedthe suspect on foot, but tripped and fell. She saw him run towards apartmentsacross from the cemetery at the corner of Division and Willow Street.

"I want to warn everyone not to be complacent when they comeout to the cemetery, Clark said. "Crime is happening all over."

Richardson has not yet been charged.
