LILBOURN, MO (KFVS) - The New Madrid County Sheriff's Department says a 2-year-old girl was attacked by a pit bull Monday around 5 p.m.
The incident happened south of Lilbourn, Mo. off of Highway D.
Sheriff Terry Stevens says the little girl's face was tore up pretty good, but the injuries are not life threatening.
The sheriff's department is still investigating the incident and no word on criminal charges at this point.
Stevens says the sheriff's department is in possession of the pit bull.
