Salvation Army distributes Angel Tree gifts

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT)-  Members of the Salvation Army began passed out gifts as part of their Angel Tree program Thursday.

The distribution began at 9 a.m. from a warehouse near NEA Baptist Hospital.  In addition to the Angel Tree gifts, blankets and clothing were given out by volunteers.

There is still time to contribute to the cause.

Major Debra Gresner tells Region 8 News, "People may think it's to late to give a toy, but no we can still use toys. What's left over we can still use in our shelter program when children come in and stay at our shelter. So we always need the food and toys."

Major Gresner says the Salvation Army will have an emergency sign-up Friday, December 23rd from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the warehouse at 4502 Access Road.  The sign-up is for individuals who have not been assisted by other agencies.
