Teenager faces several charges after fleeing from police

FORREST CITY, AR (KAIT) - Forrest City Police told Region 8 News that 19-year-old Christopher Chism now faces several charges after fleeing from police.

According to police, they came in contact with the teen after receiving a phone call regarding Chism acting suspiciously. When officers began to check Chism, he ran. Police eventually apprehended him.

Once police caught up with Chism, they found a .38 caliber pistol, a suspected baggie of marijuana and a counterfeit $100.

Chism is now facing charges for fleeing, carrying a weapon, possession of marijuana and forgery in the 1st degree.

The Criminal Investigation Division is currently tracing the weapon in an attempt to locate the owner.
