BAXTER COUNTY, AR (KAIT) – A small engine airplane crashed Tuesday morning in Baxter County at the Gaston's Resort.
According to the Baxter County Sheriff's Department, a 1974 Piper was attempting to take off, when it lost its lift and overshot the end of the runway.
Three people were aboard the plane when it crashed. No injuries were reported.
Police say the pilot was 62-year-old Tony Clowers of Texarkana. The report stats the three people were staying at the Gaston Resort and were returning home.
The plane is registered to a company in Texarkana, Texas.
The FAA has been notified and will be in Baxter County Wednesday to start the investigation. The damaged plane remains in its stopping place pending further investigation.
