Duplex fire out; fire crews investigating the cause

BONO, AR (KAIT) – The investigation is now underway to what caused a fire at a Bono duplex Wednesday afternoon.

According to the Bono Fire Department, firefighters were called to 102 Mroganne Drive early in the afternoon.

Two apartments in the building suffered heavy damage. The roof of the building is all but gone, and the bottom floors suffered heavy smoke and water damage.

Fire investigators believe the fire started in a storage area of one of the apartments. The cause of the fire is still unknown, but responders do say that no one was home at the time of the fire, which was fully involved when emergency crews first arrived.

Bono Fire Captain Jeff McGinnis says they were able to salvage some of the family's belongings.

Three fire engines have responded to the scene. Fire crews from Valley View and Philadelphia were called in to assist.
