WHITE COUNTY, AR (KAIT) – An early morning fire sends twopeople to the hospital in the Kensett area Thursday.
According to the White County Sheriff's Department, the firestarted around 8am Thursday morning at 1241 North Street in Kensett.
When the fire department arrived, 46-year-old DonnieMulherin told firefighters that his wife, 42-year-old Darlene Ritter was stillinside. The Kensett Fire Department cut a hole in the side of the house and wasable to rescue Ritter.
She was transported to the White County Hospital and thenlater transported to Children's Hospital in Little Rock. Ritter was sufferingfrom first, second, and third degree burns to multiple body parts as well assmoke inhalation. Mulherin suffered first degree burns to his hands, arms,neck, and back.
Firefighters believe the fire started by an electric heater.No foul play is suspected.
