NORTH LITTLE ROCK, AR - Paragould school superintendent Tom Kimbrell says he's ready to fix a tight budget and declining enrollment in North Little Rock's schools.
The state's third largest school district interviewed Kimbrell for its top job yesterday. Earlier in the week, the North Little Rock school board interviewed its assistant superintendent for desegregation, Bobby Acklin, for the same position.
The district is trying to replace James Smith, who plans to retire in June after 41 years with the district.
Also yesterday, Davis Hendricks of the Pulaski County School District applied for the North Little Rock superintendent's job.
