Cyber Crimes Unit makes arrest in child pornography investigation

CAVE CITY, AR (KAIT)-  An investigation into child pornography by the Cyber Crimes Unit of the Attorney General's Office leads to the arrest of a Sharp County man.

According to Attorney General Dustin McDaniel, Ricky Rothenberger, 46, was arrested Wednesday.  He was charged with 20 counts of distributing, possessing and viewing sexually explicit content involving a child, a Class C felony.

Bond for Rothenberger was set at $100,000.

According to the news release, the Attorney General's Office executed a search warrant at Rothenberger's Cave City residence in October.  Nearly 300 images of child pornography were found on electronic evidence seized at the residence.

Analysis of the evidence was done by the Cyber Crimes Unit Forensic Lab in Little Rock.
