Arkansas State names 3 finalists for chancellor

JONESBORO, Ark. (AP) - Arkansas State University says it's picked three finalists in its search for a new chancellor.
System President Charles Welch announced the finalists Thursday. They are: John Beehler, the provost at the University of North Texas; Soraya Coley, provost and vice president of academic affairs at California State University-Bakersfield; and Tim Hudson, vice chancellor of the Texas Tech University system.
All three will be formally interviewed on campus sometime next month. An advisory committee selected the finalists after reviewing 28 applications.
Dan Howard remains the school's interim chancellor. Welch says Howard will return to his post as provost and executive vice chancellor at ASU once a new chancellor is selected.
