TRUMANN, AR (KAIT) – Trumann Police has released their final report on the deadly duplex fire in Trumann on January 27.

According to Trumann Police Chief Tony Rusher, the exact cause of the fire remains confidential and all matters of the case have been turned over to the Poinsett County Prosecutor's Office. Chief Rusher's final report did say the fire has been ruled accidental, but the prosecutor's office would determine if any charges would be filed.

Fire investigators say on Friday January 27, a mattress caught in the bedroom at 218 Dog Wood Drive. When firefighters and police arrived the home was full of smoke with 4 people trapped inside. Firefighters and volunteers were able to find 13-month-old Drake Pierce first and pull him to safety while performing CPR.

Moments later, 13-month-old Blake Pierce and 3-year-old Robert Pierce were found and pulled from the smoke-filled home. The report states CPR was performed continuously on the 13-month-old twins until they reached NEA Baptist Hospital in Jonesboro. Blake Pierce was pronounced dead at the hospital. Drake and Robert were then transported to Le Bonheur Children's Hospital where police now say the two are in satisfactory condition.

A 17-year-old was babysitting the three young children when the fire broke out. He was treated and released at a Jonesboro hospital for smoke inhalation.

Investigators say no foul play, or traces of accelerants were found at the scene. Chief Rusher says no foul play is suspected and he doesn't believe any charges will be filed, but is cooperating with the Poinsett County Prosecutor's Office in the investigation.
