Lady Trucker Missing Since Saturday Last Seen in Poplar Bluff

February 23, 2004 - Posted at 5:46 p.m. CDT

SCOTT DEPOT, WV - State Police and sheriff's deputies in West Virginia are asking for the public's help in locating a missing lady trucker from Arkansas.

37-year-old Shelly Garrett of Fort Smith hasn't been heard from since early Saturday morning.  Her truck was located at a truck stop off Interstate-64.

Investigators say there was no sign of a struggle, but some of Garrett's personal items were found in the truck.

Garrett was hauling glass from Poplar Bluff, Missouri, to Verona, Virginia.  The truck's cargo appeared in tact.

Her employers, CFI of Joplin, Missouri, say Garrett is very reliable and last checked in at about 6 a.m. Saturday.  A global positioning system attached to the truck showed CFI officials that the truck hadn't moved since then.

Garrett is described as 5-foot-8, 140 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.
