MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) - Memphis coach Justin Fuente has put together a signing class of 27 in his first two months on the job with the Tigers.
He announced a group Wednesday that includes seven already enrolled at Memphis who can take part in spring practice. In that group is quarterback Jacob Karam who transferred from Texas Tech and has two seasons of eligibility left after earning his degree.
Fuente also worked Memphis high schools where he picked up seven players with two more from nearby Olive Branch, Miss. He signed 6-foot-4, 270-pound offensive lineman Tony Mays and defensive back Derrick Bobo from Whitehaven, receiver Daniel Hurd and defensive lineman Carl Mitchell from Wooddale High and another quarterback in Will Gross from Melrose.
