Rogers School Wins Award Honoring Memory of Slain Westside Teacher

HOT SPRINGS, AR - SBC Arkansas presented a $5,000 cash award Tuesday to Lingle Middle School of Rogers, during an annual conference of the Arkansas Association of Middle Level Education in Hot Springs.  The Rogers school was selected on the basis of outstanding achievements.

The recognition is named the Shannon Wright Award, honoring the memory of the Jonesboro teacher killed while protecting her students from gunfire in a 1998 attack at Westside Middle School.  This marks the sixth year that SBC has funded the award.
