Arkansas Tech Golden Suns Cross Country set to host its annual Valentine's 5k Race on Feb. 11

Arkansas Tech's Women's Cross Country Coach Tom Aspel has announced that his program will again being hosting its annual Valentine's Day 5K Race at the Bona Dea Trails in Russellville.

This year's Valentine's Day 5K Race is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 11 and will feature two divisions for men (Masters and 39-&-Under) and women (Masters & 39-&-Under), along with a Sweetheart Division, which is for both married and unmarried couples, and a Kids 1-Mile run. The Valentine's Day 5K is part of the 2012 Arkansas Grand Prix XXXI Series.

The cost of the race is $20 is pre-registered before Feb. 11 and $25 on the day of the event. In addition, add $3 per sweetheart entry. There will be a $10 entry fee for college students and younger, while the Kids 1-Mile Race is free to any child under the age of 12 years old.

This year's event will begin at 9 a.m. with the Men's Master race and will be followed by the Women's 39-&-Under Race at 9:30 a.m. At 10 a.m., the women's Masters race will be run and that will be followed by the Men's 39-&-Under Race at 10:30 a.m. The Kids 1-Mile Run will begin immediately following the completion of the Men's 39-&-Under Race.

All of the proceeds from the Valentine's Day 5K will benefit the Golden Suns Cross Country program.
