FORREST CITY, AR (KAIT) -

The Forrest City Police Department arrested two people on multiple charges after they allegedly shoplifted at a convenience store.

According to Forrest City Police, they were notified of the shoplifting at a convenience store located on North Washington and Mississippi Street in Forrest City. The caller provided police with a description of the suspects and the vehicle they were driving.

Officers then tracked the vehicle to the Arden Inn apartments at 2502 East Broadway Street in Forrest City. When officers made contact with one of the suspects, later identified as 24-year-old Christopher King, he did not stop. He continued walking into an apartment, shutting and locking the door behind him, preventing the officer from taking him into custody immediately.

The officer then called for backup. Officers were able to locate both Christopher King and a second suspect, 32-year-old Vivian Hill. Inside the apartments, officers found drug paraphernalia, including crack pipes, syringes and packaging and a weapon.

Hill was taken into custody by the Forrest City Police Department for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. King, was taken into custody by St. Francis County Sheriff's Office. He's been charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Failure to Appear.
