Unexpected Delay at Court Hearing for Possible Suspect in Case of Missing Mississippi Family with Region 8 Ties

MARCH 1, 2004 - Posted at 11:15 a.m. CDT

YAZOO CITY, MS - A surprise delay at today's scheduled court hearing for the suspect in the disappearance of a Mississippi family.

No word on the reason for the temporary delay.  But a spokesman for the Mississippi Highway Patrol says authorities have returned to the home of Ernest Lee Hargon, based on what are being called "profound new developments" in the case.

Hargon was arrested on drug and firearms possession charges over the weekend.  He's suspected in the Valentine's Day disappearances of his adopted cousin Michael Hargon, his wife Rebecca and their 4-year-old son, James.
