Monster Father Son team-up

The Thunder Nationals is back in town and showing a little father son love.  Michael Vaters drives Black Stallion.  A monster truck with a mean streak.  One of his crew?  His son Michael Vaters Jr.

For Junior, who is 16, life is grand.  He is getting to experience what most boys and girls only dream about.  His dad drives the biggest truck on the block.  And in a few years he will be following in his fathers foot steps.  But for right now he is just one of the crew.  A guy getting to work on his dad's truck.

Now for both father and son, they hope to win this weekend at the Thunder Nationals being held at the ASU Convocation Center.  Tickets are still available for both shows.  Shows begin at 8 pm Friday and Saturday.  Doors will also be open between 5:30 and 6:30 on Saturday night for anyone with a Saturday ticket.  Drivers will be available for autographs and kids will be able to get up close and personal with each of the monster trucks.

There will be other things to see beside just trucks.  Motorbikes will be revved up and pulling off tricks for the crowd.  And local business RC Hobbies will have a special presentation of remote control cars throughout the night.
