MISSISSIPPI COUNTY, AR (KAIT)- Voters on Tuesday made the decision to pass a millage increase for a Mississippi County school district.
465 people voted in favor of the new millage, while 398 voted against it.
The increase to a 4.8 mill was proposed by the South Mississippi County School Board. The mill will be used to build a new elementary school for students who attend Luxora, Wilson and Keiser Elementary Schools.
Tuesday was the second time the vote. The increase proposal was previously defeated last September.
