Comedian Stephen Colbert's show "The Colbert Report" has halted production. (Source: CNN)(CNN) - Stephen Colbert's The Colbert Report abruptly suspended production for at least two days, without much explanation.
A Comedy Central spokesman said the show had to shut down "due to unforeseen circumstances" and would air repeat episodes Thursday.
The spokesman gave no other details as to why the show had ceased production.
A Wall Street Journal report said the host had an emergency in the family.
Jon Stewart serves as executive producer for the show. A spokesman for Stewart said he had no comment.
