FORREST CITY, AR (KAIT)-  Forrest City Police now have both people accused of a stabbing last October in custody.

Police say Deadrick Eugene Smith, 28, and Calisha Sheray Banks, 27, are accused of stabbing Deshaviyon Appleby in the Rice and Mann apartment area on October 10.

According to the Forrest City Police Department, Appleby reported that Smith broke her car window out and when she stopped the vehicle, Banks jumped into the vehicle and started stabbing her.  Police say Banks and Smith then pulled the victim out of the vehicle and continued to stab her.

Appleby was taken to Forrest City Medical Center and received 50 stitches from the stabbing.

Smith is charged with Battery 2nd Degree and misdemeanor contempt Warrant of Arrest out of St. Francis County District Court. He posted a $20,000 commercial bond the day of his arrest and was released pending arraignment. Banks was charged with second degree battery and bond was set at $20,000.
