BROOKLAND, AR (KAIT) - The Jonesboro Haz-Mat crew and the Brookland Fire Department were called to the scene of an overturned 18-wheeler Friday night.
According to the Craighead County Sheriff's Department, the 18-wheeler had just loaded up with grain at Bush Agri. The big rig was headed west on CR 928 when the back wheels of the vehicle left the roadway. That's when the vehicle overturned and landed in a ditch.
During the accident, one of the fuel tanks was ruptured, causing a diesel fuel leak. Haz-Mat crews were able to remove the remaining fuel from that tank.
The driver of the 18-wheeler was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.
