JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - Jonesboro Police have arrested Barry Stinnett in the reported rape of a 15 year old girl.

According to the Jonesboro Police Department, 33-year-old Stinnett is a resident of West Memphis.

Police say a teen victim was walking to Sav-A-Lot grocery store on Washington Avenue when the suspect drove up to her and offered her a ride. The victim said "yes". However, instead of taking the victim to the grocery store, the report states he raped her in his car.

With help from the victim, Stinnett was later arrested without incident at his relative's home.

Stinnett stated that he was on parole from Memphis. He's currently being held at the Craighead County Detention Center on a $300,000 bond and is set to appear in court on April 20.
