Williford man arrested after wife found covered in blood lying in ditch

SHARP COUNTY, AR (KAIT) – A Williford man is behind bars after police say they found his wife lying in a roadside ditch covered in blood.

According to the Sharp County Sheriff's Department, 32-year-old April Herron was found lying in a roadside ditch on Acres Road Monday night. Herron was airlifted to a Springfield, Missouri hospital in critical condition.

During the course of the investigation, deputies arrested April's husband, 44-year-old David Herron. He is currently awaiting formal charges. No other information was provided at this time. Police say the investigation is ongoing and more information will be released at a later date.
