FORREST CITY, AR (KAIT)-  The execution of a search warrant in Forrest City yields drugs and two arrests.

According to the Forrest City Police Department, the warrant was executed at 831 Mann Street apartment 107 on Friday.  In the apartment police say they found marijuana "packaged for sale" and controlled substances.

Police arrested 33-year-old Eugene Nichols and 41-year-old Carol Yvonne Ballard, both of Forrest City.

Nichols and Ballard were charged with possession of marijuana with the purpose of delivering near a drug free zone.  They were also charged with possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.

The police department states abatement proceedings will be initiated on Nichols due to suspected illegal activity at the residence.

The warrant was obtained during an investigation into illegal drug sales from the apartment by the Criminal Investigation Division of the FCPD.
