Arkansas AG lands plane after aircraft malfunction

Posted: Updated:

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT)-  Emergency crews were called out to the Jonesboro Municipal Airport Friday night to help Arkansas Attorney General Dustin McDaniel land the plane he was piloting.

A representative from McDaniel's office tells Region 8 News the Beechcraft Baron 55 he was flying showed a malfunctioning landing gear indicator light.  McDaniel contacted authorities from the air.

Emergency crews waited on the ground as the attorney general did a low level pass to see if the landing gear was down or not.  The indicator light was the only malfunction and McDaniel landed the plane without incident.

According to Jonesboro E-911 Director Jeff Presley, Jonesboro Fire and Police Departments along with the rescue squad and an ambulance responded to the incident.
