LITTLE ROCK, AR - A new judge may end up presiding over a fight on whether the Manila School District can hire a new superintendent.
The state Supreme Court wants both sides to submit written arguments on several issues, including whether the case should go to another judge.
The current judge, Mississippi County Circuit Judge Victor Hill, has twice issued stays barring the district from replacing Charlotte Wagner, whose contract was not renewed. The Supreme Court has struck down both stays.
Wagner sued over losing her job. The district says Wagner failed to get state certification as a superintendent.
The Supreme Court gave the parties one week to submit arguments.
