Gag order request denied in Paula Deen lawsuit

SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

Chatham County Superior Court Judge Louisa Abbot denied a request for a gag order at a hearing Tuesday on the case against Paula Deen and her brother Earl Hiers.

The Deen camp had asked for a gag order in the case.

The lawsuit was filed Monday against Deen and her brother, who both own the Uncle Bubba's Seafood and Oyster House Inc. It was filed by Lisa Jackson, the former general manager, who worked at the restaurant until Aug. 19, 2010.

The 33-page lawsuit alleges racial and sexual harassment, assault, battery and a hostile work environment.
