JONESBORO, Ark. (ASU) – Arkansas State sophomore sprinter Sharika Nelvis (Memphis, Tenn.), who is currently ranked eighth in the nation in the 60m hurdles, has qualified for the 2012 NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships which will be held in Nampa, Idaho and hosted by Boise State University March 9-10.
ESPN3 will stream the meet live on March 9 from 7:30-11:45 p.m. ET and March 10 from 8-11:15 p.m. ET. A tape delay of the championship will air Sunday, March 18 at 7:30 p.m. ET on ESPNU.
NCAA.com and broncosports.com will stream what ESPN3 is not covering on Friday (Noon-7:30 p.m. ET) and Saturday (12:30-8 pm ET).
Nelvis captured the championships in the 55m and 55m hurdles with times of 6.91 and 7.82 at the Sun Belt Indoor Track & Field Championships while being named the meet's top female point scorer. She also won the 200m run with a time of 23.80.
Nelvis posted a season-best time of 8.14 in the 60m hurdles at the Arkansas Final Qualifier last weekend and has been named Sun Belt Conference Athlete of the Week twice this past season.
