BAXTER COUNTY, AR (KAIT) – A level 3 sex offender is back behind bars after police say he showed up at the sheriff's department intoxicated.
According to the Baxter County Sheriff's Department, 36-year-old Matthias Jones came to the sheriff's office to update some of his registration information. While speaking with police, the deputy says he noticed a smell of alcohol, and asked Jones if he'd been drinking.
Jones denied consuming alcohol, but had a 0.14 blood alcohol content after testing on a portable breath test device.
Jones was arrested and charged with public intoxication and had his bond set for $220.
