Award offered for information leading to arrest of copper thief

PEMISCOT COUNTY, MO (KAIT) - According to Pemiscot County Sheriff, Tommy Greenwell, deputies are currently searching for the person or persons responsible for a copper theft.

Copper wiring was stolen from the Channell Water Treatment Facility south of Holland, Missouri.

Deputies received the report for the theft on March 8. Upon further investigation, deputies learned that the suspects had removed the wiring from the meter base and used a vehicle to remove additional wiring buried underneath the ground resulting in several thousand dollars in damages.

The sheriff's office and the Public Water Supply District are currently offering a reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the theft and damage.
