Walnut Ridge, Ark. (WBC) - The baseball season has hit full swing for the Eagles from Williams Baptist College. They played five games this past week, including two American Midwest Conference contests.
The Eagles opened the week on Monday with a doubleheader against Emmanuel College. The Eagles fell in both games. The final score in game one was 6-4 and the score in game two was 9-1.
Justin Hawkins led the Eagles in game one with two hits and two RBI's in three at bats. He had a single and a double. Garrett Broadaway led WBC in game two, going 2-for-4 at the plate with an RBI.
On Tuesday, WBC hosted a single game against Crowley's Ridge College. Williams accumulated 13 hits in the contest, while scoring six runs. Devante Neal went 2-for-3 from the plate with three runs batted in. Josh Brown picked up the win for the Eagles.
Williams opened its AMC season with a doubleheader on Saturday against Park University. The Pirates swept the doubleheader, winning game one 7-1, and game two 13-1.
The Eagles will host Park University on Tuesday, March 13, for a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m. The games will be played at WBC's Shell Field.
