Stoplight near new fairgrounds approved by the AHTD

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) – On Monday, the Arkansas State Highway Commission approved a bid for improvements to a roadway in Jonesboro.

According to AHTD officials, Desoto County Electric, Inc. of Horn Lake, Mississippi was awarded the contract at $167,458.52.

If weather permits officials said the construction will begin in two to four weeks and the project should be complete by September 26, 2014.

On March 19, 2012, Jonesboro Mayor Harold Perrin tells Region 8 News the council gave approval on for the light to be set up on Clinton School Road just off Johnson Avenue.

The placement of the light would be near the fairground entrance.
