Investigators: Karen Swift's death not connected to other killings

JONESBORO, Ark. (AP) - Investigators don't believe the death of an Arkansas woman found in western Tennessee last year is connected to other unsolved killings in the area.

Dyer County Sheriff Jeff Box said that police are waiting for laboratory and DNA test results in the case of 44-year-old Karen Swift, who was found Dec. 10 in underbrush near Bledsoe Cemetery. Investigators aren't releasing the result of an autopsy report.

Box says there's no link between Swift's death and the deaths of other women nearby. According to authorities, Swift had blond hair and blue eyes, characteristics similar to women killed in southern Missouri.

Swift was last seen by her husband, David, on Oct. 30. Her vehicle was found with a flat tire near the couple's home.
