Williams Baptist College selects new president

WALNUT RIDGE, Ark. (AP) - The Board of Trustees at Williams Baptist College in Walnut Ridge has selected a California educator and former WBC vice president to become the next president of the college.

The board announced Friday that 56-year-old Thomas Jones will succeed the retiring Jerol Swaim as president of the four-year, liberal arts college.

Jones has been vice president for institutional advancement at Golden Gate Baptist Seminary in California for the past 12 years. Before moving to California he service as vice president for institutional advancement at Williams from 1994-2000.

Jones will take over as president in June when Swaim's retirement becomes effective.
