Girl, 17, dies in wreck; witnesses cite racing

ST. LOUIS (AP) - A 17-year-old girl is dead after what authorities believe was a drag racing accident in St. Louis.
The accident happened around 1 a.m. Sunday, killing Tianna Reed, who was a front-seat passenger.
Witnesses told police that a car was racing another when the other car switched lanes. The car that the girl was in lost control, crossed into oncoming traffic and struck another vehicle.
Reed was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver, a 17-year-old boy, and a female in the back seat were hospitalized in critical condition. Both people in the vehicle that was struck were also hospitalized, but their condition was not known.
