Randolph County man shot, tried to drive himself to hospital

POCAHONTAS, AR (KAIT) – Police in Randolph County arereporting that a man was shot Sunday night.

According to Randolph County Sheriff Gary Tribble,deputies were dispatched at 8:00 to a home on Palestine Road in reference to ashooting.

Tribble says while officers were on the way, they foundout that the victim had left by personal vehicle and was met by a Medic Oneambulance which took the victim to Five Rivers Medical Center in Pocahontas.

Police say the victim was then taken by air to the ElvisPresley Trauma Center in Memphis where his condition is stable.

The Sheriff's Department issued a statement sayingdeputies are still looking in to the facts surrounding the shooting, and aperson of interest is currently in custody.

Neither the person of interest or the victim's name hasbeen released.
