Business leaders take over ASU Convocation Center for Expo

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - The ASU Convocation Center was all business on Wednesday.

Instead of basketball players, business leaders from all across Northeast Arkansas crowded the floor of the Convo. The Convocation Center was the site for the 22nd Annual Business Expo. This year's theme was 'Space Odyssey' and businesses went all out with decorations and costumes.

"It's been really wonderful and folks have gone above and beyond at giving give-aways and decorating their booths in the theme 'Launching Your Business into the Future.'" Executive Vice President of the Jonesboro Chamber of Commerce, Cari White said.

In addition to giving residents of NEA a look at what they have to offer, White said businesses benefit too.

"Our businesses have the opportunity to visit with each other about the services that they provide and match themselves with the services that they need," White said. "We all get busy running our businesses and working all the time so it's hard to get out and just find out what everyone else in the chamber does."

White said businesses got the opportunity to meet new people and form business relationships throughout the community.

Wednesday's Business Expo featured more than 243 businesses displaying their goods and services.
