JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - Nettleton Middle School held a Walk-A-Thon Friday for more than just one purpose.
Students at this Region 8 School were walking to make a difference. Not only were students promoting a healthy lifestyle, free from tobacco use, they were also raising money for a community center in Sudan.
"Kids in Sudan, they don't have as much privileges as we have because of all the stuff going on there and they're still recovering from it," Nettleton Middle Schooler, Tinah Carter said. "Some of them were abandoned, some of them were left alone. I think this is the least we can do for them."
Students also got the chance to listen to Miss Crowley's Ridge and members of the NHS basketball and football team speak to them about being drug free.
