Two dead following head-on collision in Region 8

CRITTENDEN COUNTY (KAIT) - Two people are dead following a head-on collision in Crittenden County Friday morning.

According to Arkansas State Police, a 2003 Chevy Avalanche was traveling West on I-40 when the driver lost control of the vehicle and crossed the center median. Police said the Avalanche then collided head-on with a 2007 Nissan Van that was traveling East on I-40, killing two of its occupants.

Jacqueline McCoy of Fort Wayne, Indiana was transported to the Med in Memphis where she was pronounced dead. Marqualyne Far was transported to Crittenden Regional where he was pronounced dead.

McCoy and Far were both in the Nissan Van. Two other people in the van with McCoy and Farr were injured in the wreck. An additional passenger in the Chevy Avalanche was not injured in the wreck.

According to the police report, Far was not wearing his seat belt however, McCoy was wearing her seat belt at the time of the crash.
