TUCKERMAN, AR - Classes are to resume Monday in the Jackson County School District, after damage from an early-morning fire on Monday forced school officials to cancel classes all of this week.  Superintendent Chester Shannon told K8 News it took most of the week to get utilities restored to the buildings.

The fire, which was caused by lightning, damaged the elementary school's cafeteria, as well as some other buildings that are used by all grade levels.

While classes will be back in session next week, the district's REAP pre-school program will remain out for the week.
