Kids create fun, expressive art form at FOA workshop

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - The Jonesboro Foundation of Arts put on a workshop Saturday that gave kids the chance to create and enjoy their own artwork.

The Hula Hoop Workshop took place in Downtown Jonesboro Saturday afternoon. Kids got to make their own hula hoops with a little bit of PVC pipe and some colorful tape.

After making their piece of art, they went outside to enjoy the beautiful weather and learn to hula hoop dance.

Art teacher with the Foundation of Arts, Savanna Traylor said that making a fun, expressive way for kids to get out and be active is great.

"It's a fun way to exercise but at the same time have self expression. You can create your own dance, you can create your own circle of art," Traylor said.

Roughly 15 kids were at the event on Saturday. It lasted from 1-4 p.m.
